News From Diverse Power
Diverse Power Director Jimmy Bailey has been appointed to serve as an at-large member of the Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC) Board of Directors, according to OPC President/CEO Michael L. Smith.
Bailey has served as a member of the Diverse Power Board of Directors since 2001, having served one year before that on the board of Diverse Communications Inc. In his 14 years with Diverse Power, Bailey has led the board as chairman, vice-chairman and secretary and has served on multiple ad hoc committees, including one that resulted in the formation of the Diverse
Power Foundation, which distributes members’ donations through Operation RoundUp back into the community in the form of school grants and scholarships.
Currently serving as secretary of the Diverse Power Board, Bailey serves as vice-chairman of the EMC Directors Association of Georgia. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange and has owned and operated a paving and rail construction business in LaGrange since 1970. He will serve on OPC’s Construction Project Committee.
“I look forward to working with Jimmy as we continue to serve the needs of our 38 member cooperatives across Georgia,” says Smith.
